YES. THERE REALLY IS A WILLY
It’s true, I’m a real person, not a mascot that some marketing guy came up with. I’ve personally rolled over a hundred thousand burritos (and have the sore wrists to prove it).

BURRITO ROOTS
I grew up in Asheville, North Carolina eating what I thought was great Mexican food. I still remember those “Tuesday all you can eat taco nights.“ After many years as a student in Chapel Hill, I headed off to see the world.

HEADING WEST
Some say I was out to find myself, but what I really found were some amazing burritos. Somewhere between micro brews and sessions on the slopes (not at the same time), I unexpectedly discovered real and authentic Mexican food. I was instantly hooked on the great flavors of freshly prepared ingredients - roasted tomatoes, spicy peppers, even my first taste of fresh cilantro.

DISCOVERING THE GREAT BURRITO
And then I ended up in the Land of the Burrito Gods – San Francisco’s Mission district. Suddenly it all became clear. It hit me like a ton of pinto beans. I was being called to bring big, beautiful burritos to the masses…or, at least Atlanta.

BRINGING IT BACK HOME
So, with not much funding and no real idea how to do it, I set out to open my very first restaurant. I seriously had nothing except an honest passion for making and eating great Mexican food – particularly burritos.

IF YOU BUILD IT THEY WILL EAT BURRITOS
Starting the business was great. My whole family was involved in the process and came down to help me open up. (You’re a true Willy’s original if you remember my mom behind the line!). The good news is that people started eating my burritos, and after all these years, they’re still eating them.
